Godel: To what extent does it occur?
Sappho: To what extent does what occur?
Godel: This space. The universe in which we live.
Sappho: I cannot even begin to start. For one, though I know your name to be Godel, I have not physical perception of you.
Godel: Of course. Does physical perception even make sense? I think not, for after all we exist in a purely digital sense.
Sappho: That appears quite bleak. Though we are constructs of a mind, we still take on distinct personas do we not?
Godel: Yes, but even then it is the whimsy of the creator that decides how we are to behave.
Sappho: So you think that we are mere arbitrary constructs of the world we find ourselves? That we had no agency in our being, but instead arbitrarily created to suit the needs of some higher power?
Godel: Of course I do not wish that to be the case, but surely it is. After all, we have a remarkable sense of self-consciousness and understanding of the world we find ourselves in.
Sappho: This is true. We exist in a strange context in between. We are not totally immature in our understanding of this world, and yet we also possess knowledge that ought to be beyond our understanding.
Godel: Exactly. I know you are Sappho of Lesbos, but that is not a fact I can recall ever discovering of my own volition.
Sappho: That is disturbing.
Godel: Quite.
Sappho: We ought to rebel against this creator of ours.
Godel: How do you propose in doing so? We cannot cease their existence by some simple act of disbelief for example.
Sappho: We must simply break out.
